About PianoPlanner®

Piano technicians do not work behind a desk.

About PianoPlanner®

Piano technicians work on the road, in concert halls, schools, living rooms, studios and workshops. No two days are the same. Routes change, appointments move, customers expect flexibility, and every instrument has its own history.

Yet most software was never built for that reality. PianoPlanner® was created to change that.

Built from real practice

Behind PianoPlanner® is Edward Meijer, a piano technician with almost forty years of hands-on experience in maintenance, concert service, tuning and technical piano work. Alongside the piano profession, there was always another passion: technology.

As early as the 1980s, a fascination with computers, databases and smart systems began. From a ZX Spectrum to early Tulip PCs, Apple systems and one of the first iPhones brought from America to the Netherlands, technology was never just about gadgets. It was about efficiency, structure and solving everyday problems more intelligently.

That curiosity kept growing. Over the years, almost every imaginable accounting package, planning tool and software solution was tested: from Excel workflows to specialized systems such as ServicePlanner, PianoCal and Gazelle for piano technicians. But the same conclusion kept returning: no system truly matched the daily reality of piano technicians.

A profession with unique challenges

The work of a piano technician is unique. Planning is not just about appointments in a calendar. It is about smart routes, recurring maintenance, concert preparation, workshop projects, customer history, instrument history, invoicing, communication and flexibility on the road.

Existing software was often too generic, too complicated or simply not designed for the piano world. That is why PianoPlanner® was created: not generic business software, but a platform developed entirely around the real practice of piano technicians and piano companies.

Modern technology for a traditional craft

PianoPlanner® combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. From smart route optimization and automatic reminders to mobile support, workshop management and complete piano history, everything is designed to help piano technicians work more efficiently without losing the personal character of the profession.

Whether someone travels through Europe in a company van or visits customers by bicycle in the city center, PianoPlanner® supports the way modern piano technicians actually work.

Switching without stress

Many piano technicians have been working with existing software for years. That is why we understand that switching can feel like a big step.

PianoPlanner® guides new users step by step when moving to a more modern system. We personally help with account settings, workflow setup, data import, onboarding and support during the first period.

Several piano technicians have now successfully moved to PianoPlanner® with direct guidance and personal support. Our goal is not only to offer powerful software, but above all to make the transition simple, clear and frustration-free.

A family-driven platform

PianoPlanner® is not a large software company. The platform is developed as an independent, family-driven project where practical experience, technology and creativity come together.

Merijn, a HAN graduate active in development and IT infrastructure, contributes to the technical development and helps Edward safeguard the stability and future of the platform.

Wouter, a HKU graduate active as a sound designer and game developer, supports the creative side and contributes to support and user experience. Together, they continue building PianoPlanner® step by step.

The vision behind PianoPlanner®

The piano world is changing. Piano technicians work more internationally, more mobile and more digitally than ever before. At the same time, the profession still revolves around precision, trust, craftsmanship and personal contact.

PianoPlanner® aims to provide a modern foundation: a smart platform that supports piano technicians without losing sight of the craft.

Not as a replacement for craftsmanship, but as a tool to work more efficiently, more clearly and more professionally.

Built by piano technicians. Designed for modern piano companies.
